The Trenton Alumni Chapter hosts several high profile signature events annually that bring together members and guests – to network and celebrate the Greater Trenton/Mercer County community.  Our calendar of events is comprised of our signature events and a mixed bag of ad hoc events.

Our signature events are among our largest gatherings each year, (or bi-annually for the White Tie Affair) attracting an assortment of local community leaders and other guests from as far as Philadelphia and New York City.

Below, please find a list and description of our signature events:

The White Tie Affair

The biannual gala is a masquerade themed formal fund-raising event hosted by the Trenton Kappa Foundation.  Each year the Foundation partners with other non-profit organizations, businesses, and government agencies to impact the lives of minority youth in the greater Trenton community. The Foundation’s emphasis is on providing mentorship focused on academic and social development of community youth, awarding college scholarships, and conducting educational forums on health risks to the African-American community.

Kappa Weekend

The members of the Trenton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi believe in, achievement, hard work and inspiring service in the public interest.  That said, we strike a balance between a healthy level of hard work and doing fun stuff that allows us to celebrate our successes and recharge our batteries.

Kappa Weekend represents two days of celebratory fun.  From the Friday – after-work – “Block Party”- to the Saturday night – “Nupe Jam” – Kappa Weekend spotlights the Trenton Alumni Chapter’s aptitude for having a good time.

Little Black Dress

The Urban Dictionary defines “for the grown and sexy” as a term used to describe people who have reached a point in their lives where playing games and acting immature are behind them, and they have grown up and are ready to take on bigger and better things.

The “Little Black Dress” affair is designed “for the grown and sexy” – with a cocktail party theme that lends itself to social and business networking.  The “Little Black Dress” affair raises money for Trenton Alumni operations and charitable programs that are implemented in the Greater Trenton and Mercer County areas.

This past year, the “Little Black Dress” affair was held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the beautiful Cooper’s Riverview located at 50 Riverview Plaza, Trenton, NJ 08611.

The Holiday Bowling Party

The annual bowling fundraiser combines good, wholesome entertainment, music and dancing, tasty food and drinks, and fun for all ages.  Whether you’re an expert bowler or a novice, a senior citizen or a pre-schooler, a spectator or participator, you are guaranteed a have a good time – for a good cause.

One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds from this event are used to support the Trenton Alumni Chapter’s youth-oriented programs such as leadership development, mentoring, college preparatory programs, team-building and tutoring.

The Applied Underwriters Invitational

Members of the Trenton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi volunteer to support and operate the Annual Golf Classic, which is held at the beautiful TPC JasnaPolana Country Club located in Princeton, NJ.  Proceeds help advance the Foundation’s philanthropic work across a number of initiatives including community outreach, scholarships, and mentorship programs.

For golfers, TPC JasnaPolana is considered among the top private golf courses in New Jersey.  This par-72, 7,098-yard championship layout was crafted by the legendary Gary Player. Corridors of mature hardwood trees frame manicured fairways. Numerous lakes, creeks and ponds add to the golf course’s strategic diversity as well as its spectacular beauty.
